energy-conservationOur Ames Locations have won awards for energy conservation in multiple states.  For example, our Harrisburg, PA facilities were recognized for their energy conservation retrofits, which include lighting and variable speed drives on our HVAC systems.

Sustainable Forestry Is Our Way of Life

Many of our AMES tools feature Northern Ash or Hickory hardwoods harvested exclusively from “verified sustainable” forests.



Garant uses or sells every part of every tree it harvests or purchases; even the sawdust is used as a fuel source for its production facilities.



Clopay wood garage doors are harvested from sustainable or recycled sources.



Closetmaid wood closet systems are made from other people’s waste sawdust, so no trees are harvested to make them.



Recycling Is Fundamental At Griffon

Setting a benchmark for the industry, Clopay metal garage doors use 35 to 60 percent post-consumer recycled materials.
